LFCC Workforce Solutions has partnered with CDS Tractor Trailer Training Company (CDS) to bring Professional Truck Driver Training to the LFCC service region and the surrounding 4 state area. In little as 20 days, you could earn your Commercial Driver’s License – CDL-A!CDS Truck Driver Training with LFCC

With a national driver shortage of close to 200,000 and locally the Commercial Driver’s License credential in high demand, truck driver training graduates have an excellent opportunity for employment. Through the Virginia Strategic Workforce Initiative, Shenandoah Valley Workforce Investment Board (SVWIB) reported in 2014 that Commercial Driver’s License was the most in-demand credential by employers in the Shenandoah Valley region. Additionally, the American Truckers Association (ATA) reported in October 2015 that by 2024 we could see a shortage of 175,000 drivers. Both local, regional and over-the-road, truck companies are hiring and are calling CDS for their graduates. Students hear from several trucking company recruiters while attending school and most students have job offers before they graduate. In the first year of driving, graduates have the potential to earn $40,000-$50,000.

With 16 years plus in operation, CDS instructors have experience in trucking with many of those years in truck driving training and placement of new drivers. CDS is committed to providing professional training and with ample opportunity to learn hands-on. CDS has more trucks and instructors than other schools. This allows students more truck time and better quality training.

Hosted at the LFCC Middletown Campus and yard range located in Front Royal, Virginia, the truck driver training program consists of classroom instruction, various backing maneuvers and on-the-road training. Students enjoy hands-on approach to training and are in the trucks the first day. Full-time classes run Monday through Friday from 8 am until 5 pm for four weeks. Part-time classes run Saturday and Sunday from 8 am until 5 pm for ten weekends. That’s only 20 days!
