Ever wondered exactly what your teen, tween, or in some cases your toddler finds so fascinating about the smartphone? Ever sat in a room with an adolescent who couldn’t carry on a verbal conversation but could type 150 word-per-minute text messages all while ignoring your every word? But wait! Who are they talking to? What are they talking about and what pictures are they sharing? Good parenting today means knowing what can you do to protect them from wandering into a social media scandal or worse? WHAT WILL I LEARN? What’s trending in social media in terms of what apps are hot and which apps are not. How the security settings work on all the major social media apps and how to set them up so you can monitor your child’s activity. You’ll also learn how to fence your child into age-appropriate content and you’ll learn how to engage your child when it seems impossible to get them away from their smartphones. We’ll also give you a solid understanding of what information is easily obtained from social media so you can protect yourself and your children from being victims.
