Communication and Writing Skills
Short Description: This writing course is designed to help students become more effective and persuasive communicators and gives great emphasis to the written and verbal skills they need to succeed in business. The course focuses on a variety of topics including writing, grammar, and practical applications for those such as how to write interesting, informative and persuasive newsletters that add value to any business. In addition to writing, public speaking is a valuable form of communication, constantly useful in ways such as speaking to a colleague, co-worker, supervisor or employer, customer or vendor. How well you speak reflects your professionalism and competency, and can effectively help to build your personal influence as well as that of your entire organization. This course includes the evaluation of various negotiating styles, and strategies for the most common business environments, and helps students develop the fundamental negotiating skills they will need in a variety of professional (or academic) contexts.
Instructor Description: Though this program is a self-paced program it is supported by an educational mentor. Educational mentors are subject matter experts who have years of experience in their field as well as the necessary educational training and credentials to work as an expert. The mentor is available to answer any questions a learner may have including questions on course content, course material, certifications, and even industry questions. Mentors also monitor the progress of learners to ensure training retention and program advancement. In eLearning, motivation is a key tool to success. Because of this, mentors provide encouraging comments, feedback, and coaching to motivate learners throughout the duration of the program to support completion and success!
